In my work space in January 2025.

Hi, I am Dr. Johanna Davies.

I am a physician, mum of a wild-haired toddler, coach, and a writer. My work centers around exploring grief, goodbyes and new beginnings, and weaving together a creative and multiprofessional life. Nearly a decade in acute medicine, including working through the pandemic as an anaesthesiologist in the ICU, and a pregnancy loss in the midst of it, have deeply shaped how I see the world. Now, I run a small online practice where I offer one-to-one support for people navigating life’s breaks, mentoring for coaches and therapeutic professionals, and letter-based guidance.

Work with me

  • One-to-one support

I am a systemic-integrative coach, trained at the Center of Applied Psychology in Cologne. I combine a highly sensitive approach to coaching with elements of mentoring and reflective writing, to help you find ways out of thought loops and emotional spirals, and ground yourself while going through difficult times.

I work with language, thoughtful questions, embodiment practices, gentle tools, and creative expression. We often jot things down. I make space for silence. Drawing from my interdisciplinary background, I offer calm guidance with a clear eye for complex situations when needed. Our work is collaborative, and exploratory.

  • Mentoring

I offer creative mentoring for clients who work with people professionally - coaches, therapeutic professionals, and those in advisory roles - or who are aiming to do so. I also support people interested in weaving an interdisciplinary career.

Mentoring means you’re welcome to bring your questions, and I’ll share from my experience. At the same time, I hold these conversations much like I do in coaching, with openness, attentiveness, and curiosity. I draw from interdisciplinary influences and, of course, from my own path, always aiming to open new doors to clarity, insight, and direction, and to support you in staying connected to yourself while working with others.

Framework and booking

Both one-to-one support and mentoring are offered in cycles of 3 sessions. Sessions are typically held over the course of six weeks, and include voice-message support over the length of our work together. These cycles can stand alone or be combined until they form a well-rounded process.

The fee is 390 € per cycle.

If you're interested in working with me, feel free to reach out via post@drjohannadavies.com.

Good to know:

Morning Sessions Tue+ Fri 6.30-8am EST (GMT+2)

For those needing immediate support, impromptu morning sessions (Tuesdays and Fridays at 6:30 am) are designed to offer grounding and calm guidance (€50/45 min). This could be after a miscarriage, in the midst of fertility treatments, when you´re going through a difficult phase with your child or a rough patch in your relationship. You’re welcome to book multiple sessions within a month. If you'd like to continue working together after that, we can explore transitioning into a more ongoing format through the one-to-one support model.

If you'd like to book, send a quick note to post@drjohannadavies.com.

Upcoming availability:
- Aug 1, 6.30am EST
- Aug 5, 6.30am EST

Writing

I love to write, so I created two free offers centered around writing (see below). You can find personal notes, poems, and monthly letters here (DE) and here (EN).

  • I write nightly letters (mails) to people who have lost something.

Here’s how it works: Write a letter (mail) - up to A4 length - to post@drjohannadavies.com. You can write about whatever is weighing on you, all the questions you can not seem to be able to answer for yourself.

Loss can be tangible or intangible: fertility issues, pregnancy loss (something I know all too well), the loss of sleep, a partner, joy in gardening, a sense of home, connection, or even a version of life you thought would be yours. Letters and drawings by small people are welcome.

You can expect a reply within a week. It’s free!

  • If my mentoring offer resonate with you, you´re welcome to join me for a free 1:1 writing workshop. It might be the beginning of a working relationship, or just a new connection.

We begin with a short writing prompt or breathwork exercise, then both settle into writing - each on a text or project of our choosing. We can chat about what you´re working on and I am happy to offer feedback or inspiration if you’d like.

I miss the sense of collaboration (like in my former hospital working environment), and I enjoy connecting with people who do similar work to me now.

Sessions are usually held on Sundays at 3 pm EST (GMT+2). If the time doesn’t work for you, feel free to get in touch. To book, reach out via: post@drjohannadavies.com.

    Upcoming availability:
    July 6 -3pm EST
    July 13 -3pmEST

Contact & Hours

I am based in Leverkusen, Germany, and offer my services worldwide - with a special focus on New Zealand. Oakura, Taranaki is one of my second homes.

My time zone is CEST (GMT+2). Sessions on weekends are available upon request.

For any inquiries or bookings, feel free to reach out via post@drjohannadavies.com. I love getting mail!

Please note: I have completed training and certification as a systemic-integrative coach at the Center for Applied Psychology Cologne with Prof. M. Tusch. Ongoing professional development and supervision is of utmost importance to me. Even though I am a physician, this is not a medical practice, nor is it therapy. I do not give medical advice.
Because my work often touches deeply personal and sensitive life experiences, such as grief and loss, I choose not to share client testimonials publicly. Respecting the confidentiality and integrity of these stories is very important to me. If you have any questions about my work, I warmly invite you to reach out, book a discovery conversation or a free writing workshop, or explore my Substack letters first.
